The SEAC is comprised of 33 delegates representing 25 organizations. Eight members are at-large appointments. The State Board of Education is responsible for appointing members to the SEAC.
A majority (51%) of the delegate members must be individuals with disabilities, or parents of children with disabilities under 26 years of age who currently receive special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004.
State Board of Education approved alternate members participate fully in the proceedings of the SEAC when the organization's delegate member is absent, including the right to vote.
